Summer Sailing Program

Sailing on the beautiful Monterey Bay, the SCYC Junior Summer Program invites kids to discover the excitement of life on the water. Campers learn the fundamentals of sailing while building confidence, independence, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment.

Each session blends on-the-water adventure with off-the-water learning, games, and collaboration — knot practice, boat rigging, sailing theory, and team games — creating a well-rounded experience that sparks curiosity and builds lasting friendships. With morning and afternoon sessions, you can combine two for a full day on the water. Join us for an unforgettable summer of sailing, exploration, and fun!

  • Our summer program offers two entry points depending on your child's age: Learn to Sail (8-12 yo) and FJ Sailing Camp (13 years and older).
  • Boats are provided for all classes.
  • All sailors must wear a US Coast Guard-approved life jacket and helmet.
  • Any Junior who wishes to sail and is admitted to a sailing program should not be limited by financial resources.

Full or partial Scholarships maybe available from the Santa Cruz Sailing Foundation. More details and information is on the website at santacruzsailingfoundation.org
