Advanced Sailing

Advanced Sailing is our high-performance group - sailing 29ers, C420s, and 470s for sailors ready to push their skills to the next level.

Who it's for

Advanced Sailing is by invitation, and sailors must be registered for the Scholastic program. It's for experienced sailors who are comfortable in a boat and hungry for more speed, more technical sailing, and more challenge.

What it involves

These are fast, demanding boats - skiffs and performance dinghies that reward good technique and teamwork. Sailors come to the practices that fit their schedule and train at a higher level than the core program.

What it costs

Advanced Sailing is part of the Scholastic program — sailors need to be registered for Scholastic and have a current Junior Membership. See Scholastic Program for details.

The only added cost:

• Drop-in: $40 per practice

Scholarship note: Any junior who wishes to sail and is admitted to a sailing program should not be limited by financial resources. Full and/or partial scholarships may be available with the support from the The Santa Cruz Sailing Foundation. For more information, reach out to juniordirector@scyc.org.
